Our Approach to Player Placement
At New Frontier, we prioritize each player's development and aim to place them in groups that best match their abilities. This may involve placing players in different age groups or with peers of varying gender to ensure they are appropriately challenged. We evaluate the following key areas:
Soccer Age: How long a player has been involved in soccer.
Physical Literacy: How well a player moves and performs basic athletic actions.
Technical Ability: The skill level of a player with the ball.
Tactical Understanding: A player's ability to read the game and make intelligent decisions.
Emotional Maturity: How a player handles adversity and success.
Social Skills: Interactions with teammates and coaches.
Coachability: How well a player responds to feedback and instruction.
Commitment: Dedication to training and games.
Every player is unique, and they may excel in some areas while needing further development in others. Our goal is to evaluate the "whole player" and place them in a setting that supports their growth.
Returning Players
Returning players have been continuously assessed throughout the season by our Academy Coaches and Technical Leads. Player placement for returning members will not be decided solely after the placement sessions but based on their performance and progress throughout the entire season.
Please note that player assessments are an ongoing process, and we may adjust player placements if we believe it will better support their development. If we decide a player would benefit from a different age group or team, we will make those adjustments to help them grow.
Limited Availability
As a club, we strive to provide an optimal playing experience for every player. Therefore, we cap our registrations and have limited spots available. While we cannot guarantee a spot for all players who register, we will offer a full refund to those we cannot place and will assist them in finding a spot at another CMSA member club.
Communication & Team Roster Announcements
Preliminary Team rosters will be announced on April 4, along with training schedules, coach assignments, and other important details to prepare for the upcoming season.
